Hi :name:

Here is our monthly update. I would like to quickly explain how Intrepid Fly works – We don’t mark up the prices of any of the lodges and destinations we represent as we have negotiated preferential rates. Whether you book through us or direct with the lodges, the rates remain the same... We take care of all the admin for you! All you need to do is contact us and tell us where you want to go and when. We prefer to guide the trips to ensure a greater success, however if you don’t require the guiding service, we can still prepare you for your fly- fishing safari.

I would like to highlight the upcoming trips to the Okavango for the “barble run” where we will be targeting large numbers of tigers. Our last trip caught and released 180 tigers between 6 clients in 3 days... There are also a few spaces left on the trip to Cosmoledo in January... Please compare our prices with other operators... you will notice we are significantly lower, without compromising on the service you would expect.

Catch Report

Recently Intrepid Fly sent groups to the Upper Zambezi, the Lower Zambezi, Mozambique and around South Africa.

It has certainly been an exciting few weeks for our clients who have being instructed on how to catch largemouth yellowfish. They have been very successful in catching a number of largies over 16 lbs in the Vaal River and recently a 20 lb trophy... well done John! We are really beginning to understand these yellows better and a number of exciting trips and academies are planned. For more info on catching yellows (largies and smallmouth), drop us a mail at info@intrepidfly.com.

While continuing to identify the best fisheries and lodges, Intrepid Fly took a recce party to the Lower Zambezi, close to the renowned Mana Pools / Lower Zambezi National Park. Though the trip was a bit early in the season and hampered by the strong upstream winds, the group was still able to land a few decent fish... Well done Ant! This is an affordable tiger fishing destination (around R7500 pp for 3 nights) for the months of October and November... Keep an eye on our new destinations.

The Upper Zambezi has been going off!! The Intrepid Fly clients have been successful in landing several fish a day many over 10 lbs. The water level has dropped considerably and a few weeks ago there was significant surface activity providing exciting fishing with poppers and gurglers. We still need to get those flies down deep and in to the target zone with weighted Clousers. Compliments to all the guides, skippers and lodge owners for a great season so far.

Intrepid Fly was also proud to host more corporate fly-fishing trips. Thank you again to the client (RMB) and the guides involved... a successful formula that is fast becoming recognised as a means of spoiling clients and staff and generating further business. Intrepid Fly has opened up a number of exciting venues for this purpose both locally and abroad... think about it... getting bored of those golf days?
