Catch Report

Last month Intrepid Fly sent groups to the Upper Zambezi, Mozambique and South Africa.

Though it was a bit early for the Zambezi, the group still managed to land close to 40 tigers over the weekend. The water was still flowing in to the floodplain, hence high fast water …not ideal. This will be a phenomenal season for tigers if we wait a month or so. Look out for our specials to the region and the Barble Run in the Okavango.

Ant Diplock guided a few groups through the Bazaruto archipelago that were sighting over 100 free swimming sail fish on the surface, raising over 40 and landing 4 – 7 a day on fly… exceptional work from Intrepid Ant and compliments to the clients with sailfish between 35 - 45 kg’s. To quote Ant … get out there … the sailies are gale force!

Intrepid Fly was also proud to host RMB Corporate and BT Global on their corporate fly-fishing trips. These were a huge success for the clients and made better through the hard work of the Intrepid guides who were successful in putting their clients onto fish … many for the first time on fly. Should you wish to do something different for you clients or staff, please let us know.

Upcoming Trips

Tigerfish and bream: R9 700 - R13 500* - 3 - 4 days fishing - space for 6 - 8 guests

Intrepid Fly will be guiding a number or trips to the Zambezi and the Okavango delta for tigerfish from now till November. We have booked key times in the season at various lodges. I cannot emphasise enough the thrill you will experience catching double figure tigers on fly. The tiger fishing trip of a life time must be the Okavango Barble run.

Giant trevally and bonefish: $5 250* - 6.5 days fishing – space for 12 guests

Intrepid Fly will be guiding 2 trips to the Seychelles (Cosmoledo and Assumption). This has got to be the most exciting salt water fly fishery in the world at the moment. Much has been published in the magazines and ESPN about the Southern Seychelles. Please note that these trips are filling up as a result that they are going at a rate considerably less than other outfitters.

Sailies and other pelagic species: R11 700* - 5 days fishing – space for 6 guests

As Ant said; “get out there … the sailies are gale force!” We will be managing a number of trips to Mozambique (Bazaruto archipelago) over the year through one of the few lodges to survive the recent tropical storms. This is an ideal trip for 3 - 6 anglers and offers a range of angling and fly-fishing opportunities.
